How to Download Instagram Reels Without Watermark

Updated October 22, 2026

If you’ve saved a Reel using Instagram’s own Download option, you may have noticed it can come with an Instagram mark and the creator’s username stamped on the video. That’s fine for sharing a quick laugh, but it’s annoying if you wanted a clean file for yourself. Here’s how to get one, and an honest word about when a logo will stay no matter what.

Download a Reel with no watermark added

  1. Open the Reel in Instagram and tap the paper-plane icon.
  2. Tap Copy link.
  3. Open the Reels downloader and paste the link.
  4. Press Download and tap the top quality button.
  5. The MP4 saves to your device. We don’t add a logo, a username or any text to it.

The three common ways, compared

When a watermark stays anyway

Some Reels already have a logo burned into the picture before they’re posted. A creator who edited the video in another app, or reposted a clip from another platform, has often left that app’s logo in the corner. That logo is part of the video itself. A downloader can’t remove it, and we don’t offer tools to remove marks from other people’s work.

Using the video fairly

A clean copy is easier to reuse, which is exactly why it’s worth being careful. Keep it for yourself, or ask the creator before posting it anywhere. If they say yes, credit them, even when the file has no watermark. It’s the decent thing to do, and it keeps you out of trouble. We explain the details in our short guide to the rules.

Removing the watermark doesn’t change the resolution. For that, see how to download Reels in HD.
