How to Download Instagram Videos Without an App
You don’t need to install anything to save an Instagram video. A web browser is enough, on a phone or a computer. And there are good reasons to avoid downloader apps.
Why people skip the apps
- Many are crammed with ads, or ask for a subscription before they’ll work.
- They ask for permissions they don’t need, such as your photos, contacts or notifications.
- Some ask you to log in to Instagram through them. Never give your Instagram password to a downloader. It isn’t needed for public posts, and anyone asking for it is a red flag.
The browser way
- In Instagram, tap the paper-plane icon on the video and choose Copy link.
- Open your browser (Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android) and go to the video downloader.
- Paste the link and press Download.
- Tap the quality you want. The file saves as an MP4.
No account, no password
We never ask you to log in to anything, and we never ask for your Instagram details. We only need the link of a public post.
Where it goes on your device
On Android, check your Downloads folder or gallery. On iPhone, open Safari’s Downloads list and choose Save Video. Step-by-step help is in our guides for iPhone, Android and computers.
Downloads are for your own use. If you want to share someone else’s video, ask them first.
