How to Download Instagram Videos on Android
On Android it’s even simpler than on iPhone, because Chrome saves files straight to your phone with no extra steps. Here’s the quickest way.
The steps
- In the Instagram app, open the video and tap the paper-plane icon.
- Tap Copy link.
- Open Chrome and go to the video downloader.
- Paste the link and tap Download.
- Tap the quality you want. If Chrome asks for permission to download, allow it.
- Open your gallery or the Files app. The video is in the Download folder, and many phones also show it in the gallery within a minute.
Handy to know
If the video starts playing instead of downloading, tap the three dots on the player and choose Download. Samsung Internet and Firefox work fine too, but Chrome gives the fewest surprises.
Short on storage? Choose the lower quality button; the file is smaller and still looks fine on a phone screen. For several photos or videos from one post, try the carousel downloader.
